Blocks w/Neil Brennan

I've listened to many podcasts. I started listening to podcasts back in 2010. I've watched the evolution of every celebrity in Hollywood take their shot at AM radio host.

With a lot of podcasts, I feel like they cover the same topics and don't really introduce a new point of view about the person being interviewed.

In the podcast, Neil mostly has a conversation and covers people's "Blocks." A Block could be anything, but my characterization of it would be something unique about the person or they wrestle with in their lives.

The guest is supposed to do a little work ahead of time to come up with a list of their blocks that they want to talk about on the show. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.

As opposed to podcasts about a person's material, or career, or biography, the podcast does a great job of getting at who the person is and how that informs their relationships, jobs, and art.

Neal actually did a Netflix comedy special that was all about his blocks and it was the idea of another comedian, Jimmy Carr, to do a podcast and have other people on, to discuss their Blocks.

If you are looking for a podcast that's a little different from what you'd ordinarily get from other podcasts, this is definitely worth giving a listen!
