Domilise's

This is my undisputed Reccoh for best po-boy in New Orleans! I have gone to Domilese's for 30 years. And I plan to never stop.

Years before I ever went my Dad and my family started going. We actually had a family photo up on the wall for a number of years. Domilese's is truly authentic New Orleans.

When you go, I recommend going with an Oyster loaf, and if oysters aren't available, shrimp is an excellent fallback option. It's New Orleans. Seafood is the best choice.

The sandwich is made with Lidenheimer french bread. It's crunchy and soft. I know that's a contradiction, but it's one that's truly satisfying better than any other french bread I've ever had.

In between slices of Lidenheimer are fried oysters, mayo, a special sauce with just the right amount of kick and flavor, along with pickles and lettuce.

They will ask you if you want the sandwich dressed. Trust me: you want it dressed. Do not go try to tailor it. Let them serve the sandwich the way God intended. You can thank me later.

The next time you are in New Orleans if you want the best po-boy in the city this is the place to go!
