Thief of Joy

Thief of Joy is a fast-paced stand-up comedy special. Gianmarco is constantly hammering the audience with jokes that are sharp and well-crafted. Really smart jokes are littered throughout the special.

One of my favorite is about the relationship with his mom and the foundation of a house. It's near the top of the special. There's also an incredible joke involving John Mulaney and a drag queen that's magnificent.

The material about his Dad is especially noteworthy as well. Apparently, Gianmarco's Dad is incredibly good looking, which is a bit of recurring theme throughout the special.

Gianmarco's delivery is full of boundless energy using all of the stage to make his jokes come to life. He graduated with a degree in Theatre Arts and majored in Musical Theatre. It definitely shows.

Candidly, I had never heard of Gianmarco until I watched the "State of the Industry" address he co-hosted for the Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal. Then the YouTube algorithm got me and suggested his special and I'm really glad they did.

I actually liked the special so much I watched it twice within a few days. I can't recommend it enough. Definitely worth taking the time and giving it a watch.
